What is the best price?
Good question. In these difficult economic times everyone is looking for the best price. Is the best price really saving you money?
I've noticed recently that quality is less of an issue when purchasing plants. The old saying, "you get what you pay for" holds true. To compete we have reduced some prices, but Tandeski Associates still continues to sell the best quality plants available.
Survivability should be considered when purchasing plant material. How much are you really saving? Consider a load of 6-7' Colorado Spruce. Our price for regular grade is $72.00. You can find these trees for $62.00 each. A savings of $600.00 per load. Wow! A few load and that will add up and impress the boss. Not so fast. You notice the quality is not great, balls loose and sandy, but look how much you saved.
Later in the season you notice some plants in yard not breaking bud. Phone calls from customers saying, "my spruce just doesn't look right". You need to schedule an appointment with customer and inspect trees. Yep, they are dead. Now you need to schedule a crew to send out and replace trees. Can't send a machine the sod is in, etc. Instead you have to send a few more guys with the crew.
In the meantime sales are down. Customers are questioning trees since some in the block, "just don't look right". You have to pull these trees out and pile up out back(out of site to dispose of later). Think about it, did you really save money? Absolutely not!
Tandeski Associates sells tress that survive! Our trees are nursery grown in good soil. They don't die.
Something to think about when you are purchasing trees and think you are saving money.
We have reduced some prices in this competitive market, but we have not reduced quality or survivability.
